Hud is taking the Hall of Fame shots for the graduating class of Rhodes College today. It's an honor given by the school to deserving graduates. Their photographs hang in a prominant hall for eternity. Hud has done it for at least twenty years. He set up the lights and asked me to sit in for test shots. Simone, normally camera adverse, hopped into my lap.
After taking several nice portraits, she turned to tell me that she loved me.
I kissed her sweet head.
And that's when Simone pulled her signature move. She pressed herself to my chest. The soft weight of her body collapses hard onto yours.
It's one of her most endearing traits. I'm glad we finally got it saved.
And I think Simone is changing her mind. Maybe the camera doesn't steal your soul.
It preserves it.
*All portraits by the talented Hud Andrews, of course!*
